Ninja Salsa

It’s summertime and my garden is ripe with juicy reds. My favorite way to use abundant tomatoes is to make salsa. I have always made salsa in the blender, whether using fresh ingredients or canned. Using a Ninja blender or food processor to blend the ingredients for salsa is easy, quick, and delicious.

Ingredients:

3 Tomatoes

1 Onion

1 Garlic Clove

1/2 Cup Cilantro

1 Lime

2-3 Jalapeños or Serrano Peppers

Salt & Pepper

Instructions:

Add the first four ingredients and blend. Cut large tomatoes or onions in half or quarters to blend quicker. Squeeze the lime over the blender, letting all the juice fall in. Add the hot peppers one at a time, and taste until desired spice level is achieved. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Picture tutorial:

Gather all the ingredients. Use fresh ingredients whenever possible. Tomatoes from the garden are the best.
Cut the tomatoes, onion, and garlic into smaller pieces so that they fit into the blender or food processor.
Give those ingredients a pulse, and then add cilantro. I love cilantro and like to blend it stem and all into my salsa.
Using canned peppers gives the salsa a tangy vinegar flavor. Add the peppers one at a time until the desired level of heat is reached. Too much heat can quickly kill the fun of salsa. When you’re satisfied with the spice, use fresh ground black pepper and salt to bring out the best in this recipe.
The blending will trap air bubbles, giving the salsa a foamy appearance with an orange color.
After a few minutes, the air will escape leaving gorgeous minced salsa with a deep red color. Transfer the salsa into a container for consumption.
Use a container with a lid for easy storage!

Notes on Ninja Salsa

This recipe is a perfect summer snack and a great way to use the abundance of tomatoes and peppers that summer gardens offer. When you use fresh ingredients, salsa is a very healthy sauce to add to eggs or salads. And there’s always chips. 🙂
